Our Story
When the diagnosis comes, it's terrifying. You're handed a pamphlet about Cholestasis of Pregnancy (ICP), told about the risks, and given a prescription. But when you get home and open the fridge, the reality sets in: what am I supposed to eat?
That was my experience. Suddenly, every meal was a math equation. I was told to eat a low-fat diet to help my liver process bile acids, but almost all the advice out there was either vague ("just eat healthy") or miserable ("eat boiled chicken and plain rice").
I love food. I love cooking. The idea of spending the most stressful weeks of my pregnancy eating sad, flavorless meals felt like an added punishment. So, I started experimenting. I learned how to roast vegetables without oil, how to use powdered peanut butter, and how a Ninja Creami could actually save my sanity when the ice cream cravings hit.
We built this site because no one should have to choose between keeping their baby safe and enjoying a meal. These recipes are the ones we actually ate. They're tested, they're low-fat, and most importantly, they actually taste good.
We hope this makes your ICP journey just a little bit easier.
A Quick Note
We are not doctors. We're just parents who have been through this. The recipes here are designed to be low in fat, but every body is different. Please talk to your medical team about what dietary changes are right for your specific diagnosis. Read our full disclaimer.
